Lantern fish can be found in the oceans all over the world. They live in an area in the ocean called the Abyssal Zone. The Abyssal Zone is located in the deep sea. There is absence of light and because of that you can not find hight plant life this this biome. The species that inhabit this region of the ear are carnivorous animals that are often blind or have special luminous organs, like the lantern fish.
Lantern Fish Diet
Lantern fish eat small microscopic organisms found in the ocean such as amphipods, copepods, and plankton.

Lantern fish live 3000 feet deep from the ocean's surface. These fish travel is schools and migrate around the ocean for food and survival. At night they swim closer to the waters surface so they have avoid predators. This behavior not only prevents them from getting eaten by large fish, but migrating nightly to the waters surface allows the lantern fish to feed on one of the primary food sources of plankton.
What makes the lantern fish special is its ability to create its own light. This ability to light up like a glow stick is called bioluminescence, which is a chemical reaction t he is produced in the brain. Lantern fish have special organs that actually light up. Some people say that when they swim it looks like twinkling lights moving through the water. This special adaptation
